Just a reminder our July Pack Meeting will be on July 10th at 7pm. At this time we will be meeting at Holy Spirit Church outside. If this changes we will send an email the day before the event.

Just a quick reminder that our June Pack meeting is THIS COMING TUESDAY (6/5). We will be meeting at the East Lincoln Rescue Park (across from Lincoln Charter, Galway Lane) to shoot our rockets! As always, we will have a best in show prize so bring your best looking rocket and then we will set them off!
The Rockets begin around 7pm but we invite all of our parents to arrive at 6:30pm for a brief End of Year Parent meeting to give a few brief updates and get any feedback before we begin our next year!
We also wanted to let our families know that Camp Bob Hardin has been closed temporarily. The week after we left there we some major storms in that area that cause severe flooding and damage to the camp. The scouts that were camping there at the time are safe and all helped to do what they could to help the camp. Please keep the Piedmont Council and Camp Bob Hardin in your prayers as they repair damage and work their best to try to re-open the camp for summer scout camps.

Good day Scouts and parents! We are gearing up for our fall family camp out. At tonight’s meeting we will go over all of the finer details of the trip; however, we want to put some information out to reference. First and foremost, are you coming? This is a family camping trip and all ages and family members are welcome. We have several spouses and siblings that come every year. Please sign up using the survey here so we can get a head count.
Here is a good camping checklist for the fall camp out. Please read it paying special attention to the notes at the bottom. I strongly recommend layers and extra blankets. Feel free to reach out to your den leader or anyone who has camped before to ask questions. I know I was way under prepared for the first year.
We will be serving hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner that night. We need the adults to pitch in and help with some of the other food items and supplies for the trip. Here is a signup genius link so you can pick which items you will bring for the group. We need everyone to pitch in here if you can.
We are finalizing our games and events for the trip now. Please come prepared tonight to take some notes. See everyone soon.

Just a reminder our Space Derby is NEXT TUESDAY 8/8 in the Family Life Center at 7pm. If you can, please come early to help us set-up the equipment to run the race!
We also wanted to let you know that we will be gathering for the Solar Eclipse on 8/21. This is optional as it’s during the day and we know there are work and school conflicts. If you are free please meet us at 1:00pm in the fields behind HCUM. The eclipse starts at 1:12pm and will be at it’s peak at 2:41pm. We will talk to the kids about Solar Eclipses and have an activity for them. Everyone who attends will earn a patch.
If your scout is in school or can’t make this event but does something for the Eclipse….they need to share what they did or what they learned with their Den Leader and they will earn the patch as well.

Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed another successful launch! We’d like to thank all the parents that helped with the safety, organization, motor stuffing, and cleanup. It was a wonderful day despite the slight double booking of the baseball field. I know some of the kids lost their rockets once the C motors made their way into the rotation, but there will be another chance next year to build another. My favorite action hero probably said it best, “To infinity and beyond…” Our great space rocket blast off event is around the corner. Tuesday July 11th, 2017 @ Hills Chapel field, we will send our rockets high into the sky. Here is a picture from 2015 to inspire you. See you soon!
